City Sounds

Any city dweller is well used to the soundtrack of noises that waft through the air. Dog barks, police sirens, the occasional jet aircraft, parrots squawking. Wait what? Parrots squawking?

That’s right, much like San Pedro, my little slice of London is home to a small community of green parrots.  Gliding from tree to tree, shrieking out to their peers, these exotic, if out of place creatures have captured my attention ever since I moved here. The parrots are conspicuously absent during the coldest of days, but ever present as soon as the sun battles its way through the clouds.

I was surprised they were able to thrive in the polluted, urban environment of Los Angeles, but  my mind has been blown knowing  they’ve eked out an existence on this frigid island. But like Malcom the neurotic Jurassic Park mathematician said in that stuttering manner of his, “life will find a way.”

PS: My camera finally bit the dust last week. The blog will be photo-less until i find the time and energy to purchase a new one.
